Words work to build or to destroy. This means we ought to be careful with our words, choosing to speak only those which work towards our good. Hi there! It’s a new day and today, I’ll be sharing with you the effectiveness of affirmations.
Dear Purple Reader, affirmations are positive, specific assertions. They are declarations that help you to make changes in life. I have learnt that when we verbally affirm our dreams and ambitions, we are instantly empowered with a deep relief that they will become reality. Life indeed springs from our thoughts which need to be translated into words and eventually into actions to get results, for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. You will recall that the scripture asserts that you shall decree a thing and it shall be established unto you. You also recall in Genesis, when God said “Let there be light: and there was light.”? This is to say that the art of spoken word is indispensable when it comes to crafting our future. This process of affirmation causes the mind to strive to make the positive statement come true. All you need do is believe!
Affirmations are also useful when setting personal goals (both long and short term)
While affirming, it is pertinent to use the present tense. It is more effective to say, “I am great”, and the mind will work to make this happen. On the other hand, if you say “I will be great”, this means that you intend to be great some day which is not good enough for it may take forever. By stating what you want out of life, your subconscious mind sees and feels it as true, irrespective of your current circumstances, and subsequently attract it into your life.
It is imperative you choose affirmations that are not too long.
Repeat them daily and pay full attention to the words.
Back it up with faith. For without faith, it is impossible to please God.
Quickly, here are some affirmations from the bible that intrigues me. You can as well use them:
“For I know the plans He has for me, plans to prosper me and not to harm me, plans to give me hope and an expected end.”
“Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
“But with God all things are possible.”
“God did not give me a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of sound mind.”
“In all ways I’ll acknowledge Him and He will make my paths straight.”
“I can do absolutely all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
